As many of you are aware, water samples are required to be collected from faucets at child care centers and analyzed for lead and copper. These are common contaminants that may leach from facility piping or solder, even if water is supplied by the city or private company.
But what if you receive a result higher than the 1,300 part per billion standard for copper? Or 15 ppb lead standard? An easy fix is to install a faucet water filter for about $25 and resample. We’ve had some clients do just this, with good results. The EPA also has other resources to more aggressively reduce concentrations which you can find on the EPA website
